Id like to welcome you to my World of My Child dolls. First for those of you that dont know me my name is Annette Kravchenko, I live in Brisbane, Queensland which is in Australia, I was born in 1975, My husbands name is Michael and we were married in 1996. We have 2 beautiful little girls, Aimee Leigh who was born in 1999 and Tiana Emilie who was born in 2002.

I, like you have the great pleasure of collecting these beautiful dolls & I am very passionate about them. I am not totally sure when I received my first doll, I always thought it was in 1985. I remember Mum taking me to choose my doll not long after they were released but my first doll (which is pictured to your right) is an Aussie, which leads me to believe I got her in 1987. She is still wearing her original outfit, shoes, socks, barrettes, nappy & pants that she came home with. I choose her because at the time she was the doll that looked most like me (or so I hoped) and I wanted to be her Mum. She is still in great condition even after her hair has been brushed a zillion times and her nose kissed every time I picked her up. Just like they said in the TV ad they had out about these dolls, if you love them you have to kiss them on there nose and they will know their yours. I called her Jessica.

Anyway as the story goes, I loved her so much I always wished I had more, so around about 1994 I decided to get more. At this time you couldnt even find them on the net (well I couldnt) and from what I can figure out I was the only collector in Brisbane at the time and I tell you what they were still hard to get back then. Most of my dolls I got from Flea Markets or Doll Shows when there was no competition. Now I am in the final days of finishing off my collection but I am finding out everyday there really in NO end to collecting these dolls.

Its so amazing how much you can learn from these dolls and I seem to keep learning as the years go by. Only just the other day I learnt (though Missy) how to do an eye transplant. Much to my heart nearly breaking I got to see the inside of a My Child. (Vinyl. never a felt faced LOL) So as many years as I have been involved with these dolls I am still just an amateur, well thats what I think. We all have so much to share and learn from each other, I always love to hear from a fellow collector. Anyway enough with the boring story Check out

Wondering why I have this song playing??? Well I did the test though www.emode.com about "Whats you theme song" and this song was my theme song. Now everytime I get a My Child or I am thinking about them this song plays on the radio. It was spooky but I loved the song and well these dolls are........."What a Girl Wants"!!!! LOL
